The 2024 Skincare Ingredients You Need To Know About

  • 1 min read

With a new year comes new trends, and we’re focusing on the disruptive skincare ingredients that are going to make waves in 2024. We’ve been keeping our finger on the pulse and have rounded up some of the hottest skincare ingredients for the year.

Hydration is key

Hyaluronic Acid has so many benefits, and it’s only growing in popularity. This ingredient hydrates the skin, it works to smooth skin texture and is fabulous for anti-ageing.

The fan favourite

Niacinamide is having its moment, and it comes as no surprise due to its powerful benefits. It reduces inflammation, minimises enlarged pores, restores the skin and helps with discolouration.

The Acids

Let’s talk about acids, specifically Malic Acid, Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid. Malic Acid acts as an exfoliator and works to buff away dead skin cells; Glycolic Acid is great for improving skin texture, speeds up cell turnover, it cleans out pores, hydrates and plumps the skin; Salicylic Acid works to fight acne and bacteria, reduces inflammation, and removes dead skin cells.

Anti-ageing

Peptides are another wonder ingredient that work to tighten, firm, brighten and hydrate. Peptides also work to reduce inflammation, improve skin texture, and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Alternative Retinoids

Retinyl Palmitate is fantastic for those with sensitive skin when it comes to Retinol and is a great option for beginners. Being a gentler alternative doesn’t mean it’s without the same benefits! It works to promote skin cell turnover, unclogs pores, slows down forming wrinkles and improves skin tone.
